NBA: Heat Hold Off Celtics in Game 7

Jayson Tatum Sets Record

Nikola Jokić Leads Playoffs

In a thrilling conclusion to the Eastern Conference Finals, the eighth-seeded Miami Heat pulled off an improbable upset by holding off the Boston Celtics in Game 7. The Celtics, who had home-court advantage throughout the series, found themselves down by 10 points with just over three minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.

But Boston rallied behind their two young stars, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. Tatum exploded for 51 points, setting a record for the most points scored in a Game 7 in NBA history. Brown added 24 points.

The Celtics' late surge fell short, however, as the Heat held on for a 100-96 victory. Goran Dragić led the way for Miami with 24 points, followed by Jimmy Butler with 23 points and Bam Adebayo with 21 points and 12 rebounds. The Heat will now face the Western Conference champion Nikola Jokić and the Denver Nuggets in the NBA Finals.
